Sweden’s National Day in Uppsala is celebrated with a vibrant festival at Vaksala Square. On stage, opera star Malena Ernman, musical performer Philip Jalmelid, the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra and Trio X come together in a concert that moves between classical and musical highlights. Later in the evening, Labyrint takes over with their signature blend of hip hop and reggae, returning to their home ground to meet the audience. The programme is hosted by Uppsala’s own Jacke Sjödin, with additional performances bringing energy and life to the square.
This is part of Summer at UKK. This summer, Vaksala Square and the square outside Uppsala Concert & Congress will be filled with concerts, festivals, markets, activities and events for all ages – with free entry throughout the season.
