Terms and conditions for the event calendar

Here you can find the terms and conditions for the event calendar, along with tips on what kinds of texts and images to submit.

General Terms and Conditions

In order for Destination Uppsala to publish an event listing in the event calendar, the event must:

  • be open to the public
  • take place at least three weeks in the future from the day of submitting it
  • target visitors, both international and/or national
  • be temporary or time-limited
  • take place within Uppsala Municipality
  • be described in a way that follows the recommendations below

We do not publish event listings that:

  • may be considered offensive or discriminatory
  • are religious or political in nature
  • involve activities that require participation on several occasions (for example, courses with multiple sessions) and are therefore not suitable for visitors
  • lack complete information such as a link, image, date, venue, descriptive text, or other essential details

Destination Uppsala reserves the right not to publish event listings that we consider do not meet these requirements.

By submitting an event listing, you agree that the images and texts may be used by Destination Uppsala and our partners to promote Uppsala in digital channels and printed publications. It is therefore important that you ensure the owner of the images and texts you submit is aware of and approves this use.

Images

When submitting your event listing, you will be asked to provide a link where we can download press images to use on the website and when promoting the event on social media.

The image should:

  • be relevant to the event
  • be in JPG, PNG, or WebP format
  • be in landscape format. The recommended dimensions are 2000 pixels wide by 1125 pixels high.

The image should not:

  • be a collage
  • preferably contain text or logos
  • be in portrait format

These types of images may otherwise be cropped in our publishing system in a way that causes them to display incorrectly.

Texts

Write the most engaging text possible to encourage visitors to click on your event. You do not need to include every detail such as ticket prices, opening hours, or similar information in the description, as visitors can find that on your event webpage.

Complete all fields in the form and write a short description of no more than 1,200 characters including spaces. The text should address the reader directly, so use “you.” Keep in mind that the text should be written with Destination Uppsala as the sender, and avoid writing texts where you, as the organiser, personally invite visitors. Therefore, avoid words such as “we” or “with us.” All texts are edited by Destination Uppsala’s editorial team before publication.

Review, Confirmation, and Publication

All events are reviewed before a decision is made on whether they will be included in our event calendar. If an event is approved, Destination Uppsala may contact you for additional information and materials related to the event. You will also get a confirmation to your email adress when the event is published.

Approved events are published in our event calendar, which targets both international and national visitors. We may also feature the event in several of Destination Uppsala’s online guides and social media channels.

No notifications will be sent regarding unpublished events.
