At the classic outdoor arena Studenternas IP, you can watch the men’s elite team IK Sirius and the women’s team Uppsala BOIS in action. For many years, the Swedish bandy final was held here — but bandy at Studenternas is always a celebration, complete with long-standing traditions, one of the most beloved being the bandy breakfast. Right next to the bandy stadium lies Studenternas football arena. Here, Uppsala’s premier teams — men’s IK Sirius in the Allsvenskan and women’s IK Uppsala in the top division — play their home matches. The arena dates back to the early 1900s but has since been transformed into a state-of-the-art venue for modern events.

During Sirius home games, fans can join in on fun pre-match activities at the event square outside the arena. Don’t miss the supporters’ shop or the cosy Brasserie21 restaurant located on the ground floor of the stadium.

Floorball and Mondo’s home turf in Gränby

Floorball is one of Uppsala’s most popular sports, especially among children and young people. Most matches are played at IFU Arena, the city’s largest sports venue. Covering 30,000 square metres, the complex houses several halls dedicated to floorball (and athletics). In the main arena, which seats around 3,000 spectators, you can watch the multiple Swedish champions Storvreta IBK take on their local rivals IK Sirius IBK. IFU Arena is also one of the main venues for Storvretacupen, the world’s largest floorball tournament, which every year brings together around 750 junior teams to fill Uppsala’s sports halls for an entire weekend of play.

If you pass by the athletics hall, take a closer look at the pole vault pit — it’s the training ground of world star Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, who competes for Upsala IF Athletics. The venue also hosts Mondo Classic, a unique competition where the world’s best pole vaulters meet in a spectacular, show-like setting.

Track and field in Uppsala enjoys outstanding conditions — right next to IFU Arena is the city’s new outdoor athletics stadium, which will host the Swedish Athletics Championships in 2026.

If you’re a hockey fan, you’ll find the best atmosphere live at Gränby Ishall, Uppsala’s classic ice rink. Experience the thrill of fast passes, slap shots, hard tackles, and stunning saves as Almtuna IS, the city’s long-standing team in HockeyAllsvenskan, battles for a coveted spot in the SHL.

Badminton or padel?

The badminton club Fyrisfjädern has, over the years, practically had a standing claim on the Swedish Championship titles. Founded in 1962, the club is regarded as one of Sweden’s most successful sports associations of all time. Fyrisfjädern’s A-team competes in the Swedish Badminton League (SBL), and during the season you can experience the world’s fastest racket sport live. Their home arena is located near Fyrishov’s sports and event complex, campsite, and adventure pool.

If you’re one of the many who’ve caught the padel bug, you’ll find several excellent courts in Uppsala. In the city-close area of Gränby, you’ll find UTK Hallen, a multi-sport complex dedicated to racket sports. City Padel is located in Boländerna, just outside the city centre. In Fyrislund, a few kilometres from downtown, there are several popular padel venues, including Padel Zenter, Every Padel, Nordic Wellness, and WAS Padel & Event. You can easily find available courts and book your slot via Matchi.
