For three hours, classical musicians will perform in small ensembles, playing music by beloved classical composers to create the perfect setting for studying. Come and go as you please – stay for a little while or settle in for the entire session. It’s a great opportunity to revise for an exam, work on an essay or do some research – whatever you need to focus on as a student.
Research shows that classical music can have remarkable effects on the brain. A 2018 study found that classical music can slow heart rate and breathing, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve concentration. Another study suggests that listening to classical music for 20 minutes a day can enhance brain capacity and memory. If music is good for the soul, classical music may well be the brain’s best friend.
The event is completely free, and coffee and cake will be available to purchase at special student prices.
Study Session with Classical Music is organised by Musik i Uppland and Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.
