Sebastian Blind, recipient of the Bror Hjorth Association Drawing Scholarship 2026, presents an exhibition rooted in his Sámi heritage and shamanistic practice. His work explores the noaidi as a bearer of knowledge and the drum as a tool for healing, communication and navigation between different worlds.
The exhibition consists primarily of large-scale charcoal drawings. For Blind, charcoal carries a particular significance through its connection to fire and Sámi traditions. Respect for all living things and reverence for creation are recurring themes throughout his artistic practice. The exhibition also includes a joik by Oscar Sedholm.
