On Friday, 11 September, Culture Night gets off to an early start with a huge party at Vaksala torg. Expect Balkan brass, ska, punk energy, DJs, food, drinks and live music – right in the heart of Uppsala, with free admission.
From 3 pm, Vaksala torg will come alive with music, a bar and food trucks.
Among the acts taking to the stage is Dubioza Kolektiv, blending Balkan sounds with ska, punk, reggae, rock, hip-hop and electronic beats. Since forming in 2003, the Bosnian collective has grown into one of Europe’s most acclaimed live acts. The evening will also feature Süperstar Orkestar – the Swedish brass band that has spent nearly 30 years bringing Balkan brass to festivals, concert stages, schoolyards and house parties, both in Sweden and abroad.
