What did people eat a thousand years ago – and what was considered a special treat? During the autumn break, Gamla Uppsala Museum takes visitors on a culinary journey back to the Viking Age, exploring everyday meals, seasonal food supplies and what archaeology can tell us about food in the past.
Daily activities include guided tours about Viking Age food and an interactive challenge where visitors work together to make the food supplies last through winter. There is also a creative workshop and a treasure hunt to explore independently in the museum.
