Cycling holiday, hiking week or staycation? If you’re travelling with a motorhome, caravan or tent, Uppland has several campsites where you can relax, enjoy nature and still be close to the city’s attractions. Here are some of the great options.
Fyrishov Stugby och Camping
Location: Close to Uppsala city centre
Address: Idrottsgatan 2
Just a 30-minute walk from central Uppsala, this campsite offers a wide range of activities – from beach volleyball and boules to canoe rentals and mini golf. The site is located right next to Fyrishov Waterpark.
Fjällnora friluftsområde
Location: Countryside, near Uppsala
Address: Fjällnora, 741 77 Uppsala
A 30-minute drive from Uppsala takes you to the popular Fjällnora recreation area. Here you’ll find rustic wooden cabins and campsites nestled in the forest park. This hidden gem offers an adventure course, swimming, sauna, fishing and boat rentals.
Sandviksbadets camping
Location: Countryside, near Uppsala
Address: Sandbrovägen 60, Björklinge
Wake up to birdsong and the glimmering waters of Lake Långsjön. A large beach is only 200 metres from the campsite. You can also try the disc golf course or challenge yourself on the MTB trail. And don’t forget your four-legged friend – there’s even a dog beach!
Skokloster Camping
Location: Countryside, Uppland

Beautifully situated on the Skohalvön peninsula, halfway between Stockholm and Uppsala. Here you’ll find a family-friendly sandy beach, camping pitches surrounded by birch forest, plus mini golf, boules and the lakeside restaurant Sjökrogen. Don’t miss the nearby Skokloster Castle!
First camp – Bredsand Enköping
Location: Near the centre, Uppland

Enjoy hundreds of metres of sandy beach along Lake Mälaren outside the city of Enköping! This Uppland gem offers hiking along the Upplandsleden trail, fishing in Sweden’s third-largest lake, and (in summer) entertainment with live music.
Gräsöbadens Camping

Kapellskärs camping

Hågadalen-Nåstens naturreservat
Location: Wild camping, near Uppsala

A year-round favourite, Hågadalen-Nåsten offers countless trails for hiking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing – plus 58 species of butterflies, Viking Age burial grounds, Fäbodarna pastures and King Björn’s Mound. Be sure to check the rules for camping and open fires.
Motorhome and RV Parking in Uppsala
You can park your motorhome at the car parks near Ekonomikum, Norra Hovstallängen (Kungsgatan) and Groaplan (Gamla Uppsala). Please note that these spaces are not reserved for motorhomes. There are no service facilities and regular parking fees apply. Motorhomes are also permitted on public street parking throughout Uppsala.
