Where Can I Rent Ice Skates?

Don’t forget to bring a pair of ice skates for your skating adventure! You can buy your own pair at any sport and leisure shop in Uppsala, like Stadium. Fritidsbanken let you borrow sports and leisure equipment from for free. Equipment for long distance tour skating is available for rent at Aktivt Uteliv and in the cottage at Fjällnora recreation area.

  • Studenternas  – skating at Studenternas in Uppsala is a cherished winter tradition, set in a venue with a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Known as a hub for sports and events, Studenternas offers a lively atmosphere and well-maintained ice, making it a popular spot for skaters of all ages.
  • Svandammen – originally constructed in the 1540s as part of Uppsala Castle’s gardens, ice skating here is a unique winter experience. Nestled in the heart of the city and beside the cozy Konditori Fågelsången, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a skate and then warm up with a coffee and pastry at this historic café. This is a natural ice, so make sure to check if it’s fit for skating before you go – and don’t forget to bring skates with you.
