Vasaborgen

Vasaborgen

In the 16th-century ruins of the original Uppsala Castle, you can still sense what life was like 500 years ago. Vasaborgen is steeped in history – this is where the infamous Sture Murders took place, and these very floors were once walked by Gustav Vasa and his sons. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter a few of the souls said to still wander the vaults…

Vasaborgen is a historical museum that offers guided tours with an extra twist. Don’t miss the popular ghost walks! In the entrance hall, you’ll find a shop with beautiful souvenirs from Uppsala, Uppland, and Sweden.

During summer – June, July, and August – Vasaborgen is open nearly every day (see the website for exact dates). Pre-booked tours for groups, businesses, organizations, and weddings are available year-round.
