Jokes aside, there is plenty of room for both of these first class food trucks in Uppsala that serve genuine and homemade falafel. Of course, made from their own secret recipes. Dr. Falafel, with it’s immortal slogan “More falafel, less racism”, is a true Uppsala icon, but the underdog Ramos Falafel has almost as many dedicated tribesmen. Which one is the best? Curry Buddies, located right next to the falafel trucks at St. Erik’s square, is a full-on vegan food truck inspired by the kitchens from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. If you get invited to dinner by a Swedish family, they will probably serve you tacos. The Swedish version is a bonanza of ingredients, where almost everything is allowed to stuff your tortilla with. If you want to get “real” mexican tacos, you have to visit Tapicante at Dragarbrunns square. The focus is certainly still American cooking, but Dylan’s BBQ Spot really is the direct opposite of fast food. At this joint everything is prepared based on the philosophy “low and slow”. In other words, an American barbeque place in Stenhagen with the heart in the right place.

Juicy burgers made from rye, brisket and tallow, served with crispy sweet potato or regular potato fries and truffle dips. Is your mouth watering yet? American Steakhouse Burgers is a food truck that primarily prioritises locally produced ingredients of the best possible quality. Most burgers on the menu can also be ordered in vegetarian versions. Definitely worth the detour towards Jälla and Vaksala Fridhem.
