Gustavianum presents an exhibition dedicated to Bruno Liljefors, one of Sweden’s most renowned painters of nature. The exhibition is based on a major donation received by the university in 2025 from the artist’s granddaughter, Catarina Lundegårdh. A wide selection from the expanded collection is on display, highlighting the diversity of Liljefors’ artistic practice through oil paintings, oil sketches, drawings, and sculptures. Known for his dramatic depictions of wildlife—especially birds—Liljefors’ expressive style has had a lasting influence on nature and animal painting.
