The Tropical Greenhouse of the Botanical Garden was built in the 1930s to house plants from all corners of the world. It has Uppsala’s only rain forest with palm trees, banana plants, coffee trees and orchids. Stroll among the vines, giant leaves and insect-eating plants. During sunny days, the intensive singing of the poison ivy frogs is heard in the green. One of the largest plants is the giant Queen Victoria Water Lily with a leaf diameter of up to two meters.
