In The Light, visitors encounter Johan Thurfjell’s lyrical and evocative artistic world. Through a pared-back visual language, he creates works rich in narrative, evoking associations with fairy tales and fables, fears and fantasies. His own experiences, as well as his home and studio in the Swedish countryside, often provide a starting point.
Working across sculpture, painting, video and installation, Thurfjell combines storytelling with a strong sense of craftsmanship and attention to materials and detail.
