The Spanish wind orchestra La Valenciana SMPVB is marching through central Uppsala! Accompanied by festive wind music, around 80 musicians will parade from the City Library on Svartbäcksgatan, along Klostergatan and Östra Ågatan, across the river and on to Fyristorg, where they will finish with a stationary performance.
La Valenciana is a wind orchestra from Barcelona, founded in 2016, bringing together Valencian musicians in Catalonia and carrying the Valencian musical tradition forward. This is their first visit to Uppsala. After the parade, they will join Uppsala Blåsarsymfoniker for a large outdoor concert at Vaksala Torg later that afternoon at 3:00 PM.
