Looking for a cozy Christmas market in a charming, historic setting? Welcome to the Uppsala Historical Christmas Market! Here, you’re guaranteed to feel the festive spirit as you stroll across the beautiful square filled with local crafts, unique gifts, and delicious food and drink.

S:t Eriks torg and Fyristorg transform into Uppsala’s very own winter wonderland – complete with a Christmas market, atmospheric choir performances, and festive activities. S:t Eriks torg has served as a marketplace since medieval times, and the warm glow of Uppsala Cathedral, the area’s classic architecture, and its rich history give the market an extra enchanting backdrop. This year’s Christmas market extends all the way to Fyristorg. Here you’ll find around 70 stalls offering genuine craftsmanship from local creators. Discover unique gifts among wool products, ceramics, and locally produced organic delicacies.


Organized by Uppsala Municipality, in collaboration with Uppsala City and Destination Uppsala.

At both S:t Erikstorg and Fyristorg, you’ll find fire pits where you can sit down and warm up. Buy a sausage or marshmallow kit and grill over the open fire. Cozy vibes guaranteed!

Elf Workshop with Christmas Crafts

Santa’s very own Elf Workshop has moved in. Here, both children and adults can sit down, enjoy the approaching holiday season, soak in the festive spirit, and create traditional Christmas crafts such as pomanders, decorated gingerbread cookies, and handmade paper ornaments. Price: 45 SEK for three items.

Choir Performances from the Church Steps

How to Get to the Uppsala Historical Christmas Market

What is the exact address?

S:t Eriks torg, 753 10 Uppsala
The square is located between the Uppsala Cathedral and the river Fyrisån, close to Saluhallen.


How do I get there from Uppsala Central Station?

It takes about 10–12 minutes to walk through a cosy, Christmas-decorated city centre.
Follow signs toward the city centre and S:t Eriks torg, or simply walk in the direction of the cathedral towers.


Which buses go to the market?

UL bus lines 7, 9 and 11 stop close to S:t Eriks torg.
Nearby stops include: Saluhallen, Trädgårdsgatan and Klostergatan.

Can I go by car?

We recommend parking a short walk from the market, as the city centre will be busy during the weekend.

During the event weekend, you can park for 1 SEK/hour for up to three hours at Salagatan, Fyrisgatan and Katedralskolan — all within a short walking distance from the market.
