Barn på Uppsala Slottshistoriska museum

Uppsala Slottshistoriska tells the living story of the castle, the city, and the people who shaped Uppsala’s history. Here, you’ll encounter dramatic events — from Queen Christina’s farewell speech to Dal-Pelle’s testimony from prison. The exhibition also highlights many fascinating life stories that offer new perspectives – voices that until now have been left out of the history books. Unique artefacts and moving stories place people at the centre, whether they were rulers or prisoners, guests or guards. You’ll also discover more about the castle’s rich architectural history.

The museum is perfect for the whole family, featuring several interactive elements that engage visitors of all ages.

Right next door you’ll find Uppsala Art Museum. The castle grounds themselves are also well worth a visit, offering stunning views of the city, the cathedral, and the Botanical Garden.
