Since 1995, Uppsala Art Museum has been located in Uppsala Castle. Here, contemporary expressions meet art historical perspectives across three exciting floors featuring both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. The museum highlights current themes and offers art experiences that move between the local and the global – for those who want to be moved, inspired, or surprised.
In addition to exhibitions, the museum hosts concerts, dance performances, live art, and poetry readings. There are also guided tours, creative family activities, and special programs during school holidays – something for visitors of all ages. A popular event is the museum’s Art Nights, when opening hours are extended and visitors can enjoy hands-on activities and live performances.
At the museum entrance, you’ll find a well-stocked museum shop. In the old vaults, there’s a café and bar serving light meals, afternoon tea, and traditional Swedish fika. Take a seat and enjoy something tasty to eat or drink after your visit.
