Here you’ll find Uppsala’s only rainforest, home to palms, banana plants, coffee trees, and orchids.
The Tropical Greenhouse in Uppsala’s Botanical Garden was built in the 1930s to house plants from all corners of the world. Here you’ll find Uppsala’s only rainforest, filled with palms, banana plants, coffee trees, and orchids. Stroll among vines, giant leaves, and carnivorous plants. On sunny days, the lively calls of poison dart frogs echo through the greenery. One of the largest plants is the giant water lily, Victoria, with leaves reaching up to two meters in diameter.
