After spending several summers in Italy and Croatia, founder Josef fell in love with artisanal ice cream and is now dedicated to create “the best gelato in town”. The newly opened Joey’s Gelato is located in a orangery-style in a glasshouse below Uppsala Castle, overlooking the city park. Grab a table here or take your ice cream and relax in the nearby park.

Pastry chef Hanna Bigelius, multiple medalist at the Swedish Ice Cream Championships (silver in 2023, gold in 2024), runs Uppsala Gelateria in the Årsta district.
