Campgrounds near Uppsala

Fyrishov Cabin Village and Camping

Looking to spend as little time as possible on the roads? For those visiting Pelle Svanslös’ city, a stay at Fyrishov Cabin Village and Camping might be perfect. Situated in the northern parts of the city, just a half-hour walk from Uppsala city center, the campground offers a variety of activities suitable for both families with children and groups of friends. Spend your days engaging in everything from beach volleyball and boules to canoe rentals and mini-golf. If the seasonal urge for swimming strikes, you’re conveniently close to Fyrishov’s Water Park. Skokloster Camping is beautifully situated on the Skohalvön peninsula, halfway between Stockholm and Uppsala, in a culturally and historically rich area. The site features its own gently sloping beach on Lake Mälaren and camping pitches on rolling terrain surrounded by birch forests. From the restaurant Sjökrogen, you can enjoy sunsets over Lake Mälaren and Sjöö Castle. Here you can play mini-golf, boule, swim, and fish. The Skohalvön peninsula also hosts one of northern Europe’s most renowned nature reserves, as well as Skokloster Castle – a world-leading Baroque museum. Explore the well-preserved mixed forest, rune stones, and other ancient relics in this scenic Mälaren landscape.

First Camp – Bredsand Enköping

Are you willing to venture a bit outside Uppsala for hundreds of meters of sandy beach along Lake Mälaren? Then we can recommend Bredsand in Enköping. This camping gem in Uppland offers scenic surroundings inviting to hiking along Upplandsleden, ice fishing in the country’s third-largest lake, and a dog beach for your furry friend. This year, from week 27 to 32, evening entertainment with both singing and quizzes is also on offer. Whether you want to take a bike ride to Enköping or drive your motorhome to Stockholm during your stay, the location is excellent.

Gräsöbadens Camping

Glistening sea and sun-drenched cliffs await you at Gräsöbadens camping, accessible by ferry from Uppland’s main summer town, Öregrund. Whether you choose to stay in a cottage or caravan, you’ll experience the island’s beautiful cultural landscape and activities such as boules and sauna for adults, and pentathlon and fishing competitions for children. Both a grocery store and a restaurant with full rights are available.

Kapellskärs Camping

Photographers and ornithologists, campers and hikers. All are frequent visitors to the Riddersholm nature reserve on Rådmansö. Many of them find their way to Kapellskärs Camping. Here, with your motorhome or caravan, you can experience the magical borderland between water and land, with the sea a comfortable 800 meters from the campsite. Kapellskär not only offers welcoming camping activities such as mini-golf and kayaking but also good accessibility for the disabled and changing tables. Children also have their place on dry land, with an adventure park, sandbox, and plenty of toys.

Stubborn city slickers have more than ever begun to embrace our common nature and realized the experiences that await in our forests. What often starts with an appreciation for longer hiking trips has for many developed into recurring nature camping with a fully equipped backpack. You don’t need to leave the county to find world-class nature camping. Uppsala has some of the country’s finest national parks and nature reserves that invite you to camp with consideration. Many of these are also very close to Uppsala city. Well-preserved natural areas suitable for both fantastic day trips and several days of experienced outdoor life with the whole family. Hågadalen-Nåsten nature reserve – a stone’s throw from Uppsala

Don’t have a car? Choose a nature experience that is within walking distance. The Hågadalen-Nåsten nature reserve is conveniently located west of Uppsala’s urban area and stretches over large distances.

A nature reserve that is popular year-round because of its many tracks and trails for hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. The Linnaeus trails, 58 different species of butterflies, a burial ground from the Viking Age, Fäbodarna, King Bjorn’s Mound – Hågadalen-Nåsten is a nature reserve with many faces.

 

Parking spaces for mobile homes in central Uppsala

It’s okay to park the motorhome in the parking lots at Ekonomikum, Norra Hovstallängen (Kungsgatan), and Groaplan (Gamla Uppsala). Please note that these spots are not reserved for motorhomes. There are no service buildings, and the regular parking fee applies. It’s also allowed to park motorhomes in public parking spots along the streets in Uppsala.
