Planning tools & financial support

One condition for a successful meeting or event is that, as organiser, you start planning well in advance. The financial support available to apply for in Uppsala always has good forward planning as the lowest common denominator.

To successfully pull off an event is primarily about having clear and measurable goals and defined target groups, even in the start-up phase of your planning. Give yourself ample time for planning, sales and marketing. In the box above, we have compiled links and documents to help you with initial planning for your meeting or event. For meetings and events in Uppsala there are generally four different types of support to apply for. These are in the grey box on the right.

World Class Uppsala consists of about twenty of the city’s leading organizations and companies that together want to make a concrete difference – for those who live and work in Uppsala, and for people who want to come here and develop. For eleven years, the network has distributed financial support to events that put Uppsala on the map or initiatives that lead to improvements in society and a better Uppsala.

You are welcome to apply for funding for your project. Whether you have an event or conference that puts Uppsala on the map, or an initiative that clearly contributes to actual improvements in society, you can apply for a grant or financial support. Every year, up to 20 projects receive between SEK 50,000 – 500,000. Read more about World Class Uppsala and how to apply for funding.
