Thomas Lundqvist has been active in Swedish theatre since the late 1960s. He personally crafts all the puppets for his performances but has also created puppets for other theaters such as the Marionette Theatre, City Theatre, Royal Dramatic Theatre, and several Swedish Television (SVT) productions.
He has developed his puppetry technique based on the Japanese Bunraku technique, a form of puppet theatre created in the 17th century and considered one of the most sophisticated puppet theatre forms in the world. In his exhibition at Kaleido, he showcases both heads and complete puppets from different theatre productions.
