This summer’s exhibition at Bror Hjorth’s House presents the work of Greta Gerell (1898–1982), a contemporary of Bror Hjorth. Gerell’s artistic journey spanned much of the 20th century, marked by impressionistic street scenes, stylized figures, and the introspective series Timeless Things. Her paintings reflect both external settings—from Paris to the Mediterranean and Stockholm—and an inner search for spirit beyond appearances. A diverse yet cohesive body of work, now on view in one of Uppsala’s central art venues.
