On August 16, the spectacular 6 Lakes marathon will take place in the Fjällnora outdoor recreation area outside Uppsala. It is a unique event and an opportunity to enjoy the Swedish summer landscape with your running shoes on. Participants can choose between 5.5 km, 10.5 km, half marathon, or full marathon routes – all of which run past at least one lake. The marathon course circles six lakes in total. Starting and finishing at Fjällnora’s popular lakeside area, the courses mostly follow forest trails and minor roads, with only short sections on asphalt. Free shuttle buses from Uppsala Central Station are available on race day. Around 1000–1200 runners are expected, with about half traveling from abroad.
