Ski and sled in Sunnerstabacken

Within Sunnerstaåsen’s outdoor area, there are two different ski areas – Gropbacken for sledding and Åsidan for downhill skiing and snowboarding. During the season, both sled and ski slopes are lit in the evening. Equipment is available for rent at Uppsala Slalom Club and Aktivt Uteliv.

Ski in Sunnerstabacken

In Sunnerstabacken you can slalom and snowboard. In cold, snowy winters, up to three slopes are prepared on the side with difficulty levels of green, blue and red. There is also a smaller freestyle park. Lift passes are available for purchase in the ski rental/heating cabin which is located below hill two. The heating cabin is open at the same times as the ski slope. There are also barbecue areas next to the slopes.

Sled in Sunnerstabacken

Sunnerstabacken is also one of Uppsala’s most popular places for sledding enthusiasts. When the snow is white on the ground, there are sled runs in two directions in the pit. Dust off the snow mobile and bring a thermos with hot chocolate. There are nice barbecue areas below the hill.

Sunnerstastugan

If hunger strikes, there is also a cosy café in Sunnerstastugan that serves both lunch and coffee. Here you will find everything from crispy waffles to tasty soups and burgers.
