Every fall, the Uppsala International Guitar Festival attracts international superstars to Uppsala for a festival that celebrates the world of music in general and guitar music in particular. The festival has been held for 17 years in the city: this year it will be different, but the festival doesn’t cancel, it adapts.
The main theme is Made in Sweden, a manifestation of Swedish musicians, Swedish music and Swedish composers. This year, the festival boasts names like Mateusz Kowalski, The Gothenburg Combo & Friends, Emil Ernebro with guests, Lisa Nilsson with Mattias Torell and Mats Bergström, and Yiorgos Fakanas & Guthrie Govan Music Project. In addition, a tribute concert with a guitar orchestra to Sergio Assad will be held.
50 tickets per concert are released, so it is first come, first served. The festival will also be live streaming it’s concerts, so everyone can enjoy them. To view them you buy a digital festival pass.
